Every Scout Group requires trustees, which form the Group Executive Committee.

This committee oversees the administration of the Group. As well as a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, each Executive welcomes people with specific skills, and representatives of Beaver, Cub and Scout parents. Most Group Executives meet three or four times a year, but effective members will volunteer for tasks in between the meetings, thus ensuring the smooth running of the Scout Group and maximising its potential for a hugely positive impact on its young members.

Our current executive committee is made up of the chairman (who is stepping down), Group Lead Volunteer, Treasurer, and 3 trustees. On the basis that many hand make light work, we would like to extend this, and one of the things we would like is for every section to have a parent representing them on our exec. As well as the usual roles, the parent representative is there to put requests in on behalf of each section, for example for funding, and to try and ensure that each section has their specific needs met.
